Heike crabs aka samurai crab have a shell that bears a pattern resembling a human faces.
Heike is a name of a clan (also known as Taira) in the olden days of Japan. During the battle of Dannoura, The Minamoto (also known Genji) defeated the Heike and hundreds of Heike were drowned. These crabs are thought to be the incarnations of the spirits of Heike warriors. Reincarnation or not, it does bears a striking resembles with the Heike warrior drawing.
