He was once considered as one of the unluckiest man on the planet. He has survived seven major accidents.
It all began in 1962, when the first of many upcoming series of accident struck Frane Selak. The train he was traveling from Sarajevo to Dubronik, derailed and plunged into the icy river. 17 passengers were drowned but he manage to survive even though suffering from hypothermia.
Then just one year later, he was thrown out from a plane just before it crashed, miraculously landing on a pile of haystack. 19 people died from that accident.
3 years after that horrible accident, the bus he was traveling on crashed and plunged into the river, killing 4 people and Frane Selak manage to swim to safety. in 1970 and 1973, the car he was driving caught fire but suffer no injuries.
22 years later, he is still not out from his jinxes yet. He was hit by a city bus, but escapes with minor injuries. And just 1 year after in 1996 while avoiding an oncoming truck, the car he was driving hurtled down a cliff. He manage to leap out on time.
Finally, his luck seems to made a turn when in 2003, he won $1 Million dollars in the Croatian lottery. When he was asked to fly to Australia to air on a commercial, he simply refuses. Frane Selak said he didn't want to test his luck.
