Usually when we think about water drop's splashes photograph, in our mind we'll be picturing crystal clear water droplets splashing in a pool of crystal clear water. Until these amazing photographs came to my attention. Irene Müller, is using milk droplets to splash on coffee, blueberry and vanilla milkshakes.
These photos not only looks brilliant, it actually brought out an umbrella effects. What's more amazing, according to Irene Müller she doesn't use any photo/sound gate triggers for her high speed photography. She said all she have was a camera, good eye/shutter finger coordination and tons of patience.
In an exclusive e-mail interview, she reveal on how she manage to discover this amazing gifts.
Where are you from?
I'm a Scot, living in Germany
When did you started in photography?
I got seriously interested in photography when I bought my Nikon D70-2 years ago.
Where did you get your inspiration from in these milk drops photo?
I love working with liquids and did the coffee/milk shots to mainly experiment on the contrast of the coffee/milk colours. I had no idea at that time that I would end up with the splash/ umbrella forms the milk eventually took. I was even more surprised at the result because I do not use a laser/time gate.
Where did you usually take your photographs?
I do most of my photography in my kitchen (it's easier to clean up afterwards ;-)
Where can we find your work?
My work can be found at www.pbase.com or at www.dpchallenges.com. My prints selling site is ireneM.dpcprints.com
